George Stroumboulopoulos – An Insight About His Early Life

George Stroumboulopoulos was born in a neighborhood of Mississauga that is Malton, Ontario, to a Ukrainian mother and a Greek father born in Egypt. In his childhood, Stroumboulopoulos was raised by his mother in Toronto and stayed with a close-knit extended family. Moreover, after completing his graduation from lord secondary school in ascension, he briefly began to study radio broadcasting at Humber College in Toronto.

During the spring of 1993, George Stroumboulopoulos started working at rock radio situated in Kelowna, British Columbia, for several months before getting hired by the Toronto radio station for work in talk radio. After that, he moved to  CFNY-FM to broadcast various shows, including live performances in Toronto. From 2005 George Stroumboulopoulos has been hosting the strombo show, a freeform radio talk show with music.

One should know that the show has been aired on the network of CBC Radio 2 since 2009. He made a comeback in the mid of august 2020; George Stroumboulopoulos began hosting a new show named strombo, which was newly created on the apple music hits radio station stream on the live radio of apple music. You can stream the show from Monday to Thursday at 2:00 pm (PST) every week.

From 2000 to 2004, George Stroumboulopoulos worked as a producer at much music and broadcasted the punk show, and after that, the much loud, new music, and much news.

  • The Great Canadian

In 2004, George Stroumboulopoulos was featured on the great Canadian series on CBC television as the leading role of Tommy Douglas. Moreover, over 1.2 million votes were cast in six weeks, and each advocate made its way to the top 10 nominees. You should know that George Stroumboulopoulos has made a passionate and personal case for Tommy Douglas, the medicare Canadian father, and Douglas won the contest.

  • The Strombo Show

George Stroumboulopoulos has been broadcasting long-running night talk radio shows on Sundays, also known as the strombo show. It was initially hosted on the CFRB talk show in Toronto and CJAD talk show in Montreal. In 2007, the show was transferred to the corus network in November, and it changed the entire format to music only.

Moreover, the strombo show was also broadcasted on 102.1, the edge of Toronto studio and several other radio stations run by Corus entertainment network, including Power 97 in Winnipeg, CFOX-FM in Vancouver, Y108 in Hamilton, and FM96 in London.

  • Tonight/The Hour

In January 2005, the first-ever episode of the hour was available for streaming. In the seventh season of the show, the name of the show was changed to George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, and later it was shortened to half-hour from one hour. You should know that George Stroumboulopoulos tonight was a combination of celebrity and news, which covers everything from pop culture, politics, entertainment, the environment, sports, human rights, and many more.

The show won eight Gemini awards. Moreover, the show features a wide range of world leaders to politicians and celebrities. However, the show was ended in the 2013-2014 season because George Stroumboulopoulos started working for Rogers Communications.
